The assignment is specified with Flow drama students in mind.
Please watch the following 25 minutes documentary on YouTube about being a black man during
the Apartheid era in South Africa.

Write a short resume of the documentary and answer the following questions:
• What happened in 1994?
• Who is Nelson Mandela?
• Describe a township
• Which legislation was passed in 1993, making life even harder for black and colored people?
Get together in groups of 4 and tape a 10-minute long video. (Max. 10 min!) Focus on the hardship
of living in a Township and act out how a day for a black South African could be according to you.
Everyone in the group has to be seen in the video.
Remember to speak English. No Denglish or Danish is allowed. Watch how you pronounce words,
speak clearly and use these words in your play at least once. If you do know these words, please
look them up in a dictionary.
